The St. Paul's Hospital of Iloilo, Inc. (SPHI) Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) officially commenced operations on

April 21, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the hospital's continuing commitment to providing advanced cardiovascular care to the people of Iloilo and the Western Visayas. As one of SPHI's specialized service units, the Cath Lab was established to deliver timely, accurate, and minimally invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures for patients with heart and vascular diseases.

On its first day of operation, the Cath Lab successfully performed its first Coronary Angiogram, a landmark achievement made possible through the generosity of the CADSSI Best of Broadway Fundraising Show 2024, which fully funded the patient's procedure. This meaningful initiative reflects SPHI's mission of extending compassionate, quality healthcare and making life-saving cardiac services more accessible to those in need.

Equipped with advanced medical technology and supported by a team of highly skilled interventional cardiologists, nurses, and allied health professionals, the SPHI Cath Lab offers a comprehensive range of cardiovascular services. These include coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty with stent implantation, pacemaker implantation, peripheral vascular interventions, and other specialized cardiac procedures, all performed in accordance with internationally recognized standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Guided by the healing ministry of the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres, the SPHI Catheterization Laboratory continues to uphold the hospital's tradition of excellence by combining innovation, expertise, and compassionate care.
